In lacrosse, meanwhile, Porter currently ranks sixth in career goals (86) and seventh in points (96).

Porter was named CCC Rookie of the Year as a freshman in 2005, when she went 10-3 at No. 1 singles, and recorded 11 points (9-2-11) in 15 lacrosse games. As a sophomore, Porter earned CCC First Team – Singles and Second Team – Doubles honors while being named CCC co-Player of the Week on September 11, 2006. On the turf, she started all 13 games and placed second in goals (29) and points (31). She potted a season-high six goals in a win over Regis (MA) on April 21 and ended the season 14th in the conference in goals per game (2.23).

Porter earned TCCC First Team – Singles honors as a junior after posting a perfect 7-0 mark in conference play, with four of those wins against First Team members. She finished the season 11-1 and was named TCCC Player of the Week on September 3. Porter notched her best season on the turf as a junior, posting career highs in goals (44) and points (50); her 44 goals were ninth in the conference. She scored a career-high eight goals against Rhode Island College on April 17. That year, Porter represented Nichols at NCAA National Leadership Conference in Buena Vista, Fla.

Porter closed her career by earning CCC First Team honors in singles and doubles as a senior, going 10-5 in singles (6-4 CCC) and 10-4 in doubles (8-2 CCC). In the process, she became the only student-athlete in the conference to earn First Team accolades in both singles and doubles. Porter battled injuries during lacrosse season but managed to score four goals in four games. For her efforts, she received the college's Outstanding Female Senior Athlete Award.

Porter finished her tennis career with a singles record of 43-13 (.768) and a doubles mark of 31-24 (.564). She was an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar-Athlete while at Nichols as well as a four-year member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).

"Jess is one of the most amazing people I have ever met," said Nichols tennis coach Paul Brower. "On the court, she was a tenacious competitor who won matches with not just talent, but grit and determination. She constantly pushed her teammates to be better and always led by example. Off the court, her positive attitude and sense of humor made her one of the best teammates and leaders I have ever encountered.  The Nichols tennis program and the entire Nichols community were made better because of Jessica's time on the hill."

Former teammate Molly Leahy added, "Jess Porter was a leader both on and off the court. Her drive and encouragement united the team and helped us achieve our greatest goals. She graced us with her positive attitude, calm demeanor, and the ability to make us laugh along the way. I'm honored to have known and played tennis with Jess, and will continue to look up to her as time goes on."
