The Nichols College Division of Athletics is always seeking energetic and highly motivated students to join our game management team!
STATISTICIANS & CALLERS
- Assist with inputting statistics for assigned Nichols College home athletic contests - learn how to input live game statistics using NCAA-approved software while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Work with and assist the Athletic Communications team in ensuring official game statistics are accurate and complete.
- Call and comminicate live game action to the statistician (inputter) - including scoring plays, substitutions, penalties, or other information pertaining to the specific sport!
- Gain valuable experience with sports statistics and scorekeeping; TRAINING WILL BE PROVIDED.
SCOREBOARD OPERATORS
- Run the scoreboard for select Nichols College home athletic contests - sports include men's and women's volleyball, men's and women's soccer, field hockey, men's and women's ice hockey, baseball, and softball.
PUBLIC ADDRESS ANNOUNCING
- Be official public address announcer for assigned Nichols College home athletic contests!
- Deliver clear, professional and engaging game announcements, including starting lineups, player introductions, scoring plays, penalties, promotional reads, and more!
- Arrive prior to assigned games to review pronunciations, scripts, rosters and game notes (if applicable).
- Strong verbal communication skills, confidence speaking in front of crowds, attention to detail and general knowledge of collegiate athletics is preferred - TRAINING CAN BE PROVIDED.
BROADCASTING & LIVE STREAM PRODUCTION
- Serve as the "Voice of the Bison!"
- Provide play-by-play/color commentary for home athletic events - game analysis, and pregame/postgame coverage (if applicable), including on-air interviews with coaches, student-athletes, or administrators before, during and after contests.
- Help produce live broadcasts for the official Nichols College Athletics streaming hub - including camera operation, audio, and streaming software - TRAINING WILL BE PROVIDED.
- Set up, test, operate, and troubleshoot broadcast equipment before, during and after events.
- Maintain high broadcast standards while adhering to NCAA, Conference of New England (CNE) and Nichols College branding guidelines.
- Assist with special events, awards ceremonies, press conferences, and other on-campus productions (as assigned)!
PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEOGRAPHY
- Capture high-quality photography and videography for home events, including sideline photography, in-game photo/video action content, and more!
- Collaborate with the Athletic Communications team to support coverage needs for all 24 varsity athletic programs.
- Organize and archive content in a structured digital library for departmental usage.
- Prior experience in sports photography and/or videography is preferred, with a demonstrated ability in capturing live action, editing visual content and storytelling through photo and video.
GAME OPERATIONS & FIELD ASSISTANTS
- Assist with the setup, execution and breakdown of home athletic events, ensuring facilities are prepared in accordance with NCAA, Conference of New England (CNE) and institutional standards.
- Help with field level tasks as assigned, including:
- Football chains/balls
- Soccer, field hockey & lacrosse ball chasers
- Basketball floor sweepers
- Ice hockey penalty box & scoreboard operators
- softball & baseball foul ball chasers
- and more!
- Perform additional gameday responsibilities as assigned - including equipment transport, venue preparation, and postgame cleanup.
THUNDER (MASCOT)
- Serve as Thunder - the official mascot of Nichols College - for select home events, including specialty games and senior days!
- May also be asked to appear at various athletic promotional events.
