Mission Statement

Within a supportive community, Nichols College transforms today's students into tomorrow's leaders through a dynamic, career-focused business and professional education.
To support its mission, Nichols College

• Offers an experiential business curriculum with a strong liberal arts foundation that is enhanced by the scholarship of practice and pedagogy.
• Integrates research and scholarship into the student experience programs and activities that cultivate and enhance professional skills and readiness.
• Develops the communication and critical thinking abilities, ethical and cultural perspectives, and the necessary teamwork skills that are required of leaders in a global economy.

The mission of the Division of Athletics is to provide the college and its constituents with a broad and competitive NCAA-certified athletics program by giving students the opportunity to learn leadership skills and life lessons through the pursuit of athletic excellence.

Objectives

To successfully sustain the mission, the Division of Athletics will:

• Provide opportunities and resources for student-athletes that develop strong character, academic skills, leadership skills, career potential, ethical strengths, and social/civic responsibility.
• Graduate student-athletes who become contributing citizens in their communities.
• Graduate student-athletes who are loyal supporters of Nichols College.
• Graduate student-athletes that can translate their pursuit of athletic excellence into professional and personal success.
• Combine the athletic experience with positive academic, spiritual, and social experiences in all aspects of campus life.
• Promote a positive perception of Nichols' athletics within the college community.
• Ensure a fiscally sound division.
• Raise the visibility of Nichols College in the greater Dudley community by involving students and division members in community service.
