Cardoza earned the starting point guard role midway through his freshman campaign and averaged 10.6 ppg while connecting on 81.0 percent of his free throw attempts. As a sophomore, Cardoza led the Bison in both assists (2.4) and steals (1.7) while averaging 10.8 ppg. Cardonza pushed his scoring average to 11.5 ppg as a junior – good for second on the team – and scored double-digits in 15 contests, highlighted by a 27-point effort against Daniel Webster. He capped his stellar career in 2002-03 by garnering both Team MVP honors as well as Senior Male Athlete of the Year honors at Nichols. Cardoza reached double-figures in points in 21 of 25 contests, averaging a team-high 14.0 ppg. He also led the Bison with 51 three-pointers to garner a spot on the All-Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) First Team.

During his senior season, Cardoza scored his 1,000th career point and graduated with 1,156 career points. At the time of his induction, Cardoza ranked 16th all-time in scoring at Nichols and was one of just 23 student-athletes in program history to hit the 1,000-point plateau. He became the 26th men’s basketball inductee.
