Nichols College Athletics Hall of Fame
Costello was a key member of the first-ever Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Northeast Men's Ice Hockey Championship team and finished his career with 116 points – including a program-record 95 assists. At the time of his induction, his 116 points was No. 12 in program history while his 29 assists during the 2006-07 campaign was the second-highest single-season mark at NC.

The Shelby Township, Michigan native burst onto the scene as a freshman in 2006-07 by breaking a 37-year old school record for assists with 29. Costello collected 17 assists in 15 ECAC Northeast contests and finished the season with 32 points (3-29-32) – good for third on the Bison.

Costello went on to record 29 points in each of his next two seasons for the black, white and green, scoring a career-high 10 goals in the championship season of 2008-09. He picked up a career-high four assists against Franklin Pierce on December 5, 2007 and registered eight multi-point games as a junior, highlighted by a four-game point streak during which he accumulated nine points (Dec. 14, 2008 – Jan. 10, 2009). Costello scored a PP goal against Wentworth in the ECAC Northeast Championship on March 7, 2009.

Costello averaged a career-best 1.37 points/game as a senior and reached the 20-assist mark for the third time. He was named to the ECAC Northeast Academic All-Conference Team for the second-straight season and received conference POW honors after racking up seven points (1-6-7) in two games.

A former member of the Traverse City North Stars (NAHL), Costello appeared in 95 career games at Nichols and finished with a points/game average of 1.22.
