Nelson was a four-year member of the women’s basketball program who graduated fifth all-time in scoring (1,310 points), second in blocked shots (139), and fourth in field goals (524), field goal pct. (46.8), free throws (262), and rebounds (775).
 
The three-time The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) honoree averaged eight points and six boards in 27 games as a freshman in 2007-08, earning CCC Rookie of the Week honors on two occasions. Nelson was a TCCC Honorable mention the following year after starting 28 of 29 games and averaging 10.7 ppg and 7.6 rpg. She collected three double-doubles and pulled down 10-or-more rebounds in seven games.
 
Nelson garnered TCCC Third Team honors as a junior, shooting 52.8 percent from the field while averaging 15.9 ppg and 7.3 rpg. The North Providence, R.I. native recorded 20 double-digit scoring games and four double-doubles, scoring a career-high 29 points at Curry on January 30. Nelson received TCCC & ECAC Player of the Week accolades, as well as D3Hoops National Team of the Week honors, after averaging 25 points, nine rebounds, and three steals in a pair of wins.
 
As a senior, Nelson averaged a career-high 9.0 rpg to go along with 16.7 ppg to earn CCC First Team accolades. She opened the 2010-11 campaign with three-straight double-doubles, averaging 16.0 ppg and 12.7 rpg during that span, and finished the season with 10. Nelson scored in double-figures in 23 of 24 games and reached the 20-point mark seven times, highlighted by a trio of 25-point efforts.
 
Nelson was also named to the CCC Academic All-Conference Team during her final three seasons ‘On the Hill.’
