DUDLEY, Mass. – The Nichols men's tennis program continued its non-conference fall slate on Saturday, September 10 at the Stonehill Doubles Invitational at the Charles Watt Tennis Courts in Easton, Mass.
The Bison took part in five flights of action on the day, competing against schools in both the NCAA's Division I and III in Stonehill, Roger Williams, and Wheaton (MA).
In Flight 'A' play, the Nichols duo of Ludwig Schlätzer and Leon Zeis took down a pair of Skyhawks and Lyons teams, 4-2, 11-4, 8-10 and 3-4, 4-1, 12-1, respectively.
Caio Dieckmann and Yannick De Vet teamed up for Flight 'B' play, earning a win over Javed and Hanlon of Wheaton, 4-0, 4-2.
A Flight 'C' victory for Nichols came behind the strong performance of Trevor Schwarzmann and Santiago Perez, who fell only in action with the Division I hosts. The two Bison battled for wins over the Hawks (4-2, 4-0) and the Lyons (4-0, 4-0).
Oscar Junyent and Faucy Lucart were the Flight 'D' representatives for Nichols. The tandem took down a pair of Roger Williams opponents on the other side of the net, 4-3, 3-4, 13-11 and 4-3, 4-2 respectively.
Flight 'E' action was dominated by the Bison duo of Arthur Ferreira and Enzo Matos Balleux, who triumphed past a pair of Hawk teammates 4-1, 4-1 and 4-0, 4-2.
Nichols will face Stonehill again, this time in singles and doubles match play, a week later when the Seahawks travel to Dudley on Saturday, September 17 at 12 p.m.
