DUDLEY, Mass. – The Nichols College men's tennis team rolled to an 8-1 win over Western New England Wednesday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action at the Robinson Tennis Courts.
The Bison jumped on the Golden Bears early, winning all three doubles matches to take a commanding 3-0 lead. Junior

August Moeller defeated David Kalmer and Justin Kohut at No. 1 doubles 8-3, sophomores
Guilherme Barbosa and
Peter Coletti blanked Luke Surawski and Max Gordon 8-0 at No. 2 doubles, and sophomore
Brandon Howard and junior
Igor Markowski handled Matt Russell and Michael Tran at No. 3 doubles, 8-1.
Norton collected the fourth point of the afternoon for Nichols with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Gordon at No. 3 singles before freshman
Brandon Stewart shut down Tran 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4 singles. Other winners included Barbosa over Surawski at No. 2 singles (6-1, 6-0), sophomore
Jack Donaldson over Griffin Arnold at No. 5 singles (6-3, 6-2), and freshman
Bruno Cavalcanti over Russell at No. 6 singles (6-3, 6-4).
The only blemish on the afternoon for the Bison came at No. 1 singles, where sophomore
Brandon Howard dropped his first CCC match of the season, falling 6-2, 6-2 to Kalmer.

Today's match marked the 23rd all-time meeting between Nichols College and Western New England University. The Bison have won the last 10 matches and now lead the series, 16-7.
