DUDLEY, Mass. - The Nichols College men's tennis team picked up a pair of wins via sweep on Tuesday afternoon, defeating Becker 9-0 at home while also adding a 9-0 victory over Salve Regina University in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action in Newport, R.I.

The Bison (8-2, 2-0 CCC) cruised in the sweep of Becker (0-2) to start the day in a match that took just over 90 minutes to complete.

Nichols only dropped two points in doubles play against the Hawks as sophomore

Igor Markowski posted an 8-0 win over sophomore Edward Seol and senior Thomas Lanphear at No. 1 doubles. CCC Rookie of the Week freshman

Bruno Cavalcanti to defeat freshman Leemar Baptista and freshman Bret Halkyard by the matching score at No. 2 doubles.

Jack Donaldson and freshman Nicola Bezada rounded out doubles play with an 8-2 win at No. 3 doubles over freshman John Tomkowiak and sophomore Alex Kielczewski.

The Bison were just as dominant in singles play as Stewart and Donaldson cruised to straight-set 6-0, 6-0 wins at No. 1 and No. 3 singles, respectively. Cavalcanti added a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles over Lanphear, while Bezada defeated freshman Emmett Smith by the matching score at No. 4 singles. Freshman
Brendan Stierli registered a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 6 singles over Kielczewski, while junior
Chris Chardon wrapped up the match with a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 5 singles against Tomkowiak.
The Bison improved to 2-0 in the CCC with a 9-0 sweep of the Seahawks, who dropped to 1-4 overall and 0-1 in league games with the setback.

Tuesday's match against Becker was the 10th in the series, and the Bison hold a 10-0 mark in the matchup. The match against Salve Regina marked the 38th meeting between the two teams and Nichols also leads that series, 21-17.
