BEVERLY, Mass. – The Nichols College men's tennis team opened up their Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) schedule with a 5-0 victory over Endicott College on Sunday afternoon at the Bass River Tennis Club in Beverly, Mass.

The Bison have now won five-straight to improve to 6-2 overall and 1-0 in the CCC, while Endicott drops to 4-5 overall and 0-1 in league games. Nichols returns to action on Tuesday afternoon when they travel to Salve Regina University for a 3:30 p.m. league matchup.

The Bison took a 3-0 lead following doubles play as sophomore
Brandon Howard and junior
Igor Markowski opened the match with an 8-2 win over juniors Christos Papadopoulos and Anthony Rinaldi at No. 3 doubles. Sophomores
Guilherme Barbosa and
Peter Coletti followed with an 8-2 win at No. 2 doubles over sophomore Justin Toler and sophomore Thomas Brent.

Junior
Blake Norton and freshman
August Moeller made it a clean sweep of doubles play as they battled to a 9-7 win at the top doubles position over senior Chris Kirkpatrick and junior Keaton McLeary.

Freshman
Brandon Stewart made it a 4-0 lead for the Bison as he picked up a 6-2, 6-0 win over Toler at No. 4 singles. Norton then sealed the match with a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 3 singles over freshman Daniel Rinkert.

Nichols also held leads in the other four singles matches before the match was played to decision.

Sunday was the 23rd meeting between the two teams, and Nichols leads the all-time series, 19-4.
