DUDLEY, Mass. – The Nichols College men's tennis team defeated Emerson 9-0 in non-conference action Sunday afternoon at the Robinson Tennis Courts.

The Bison swept through doubles with sophomore
Blake Norton (Stratford, Conn.) and freshman
Brandon Howard (Hamden, Conn.) taking care of business in the top flight – winning 8-1 over Daniel Okin and Antonio Ramirez.

In No. 2 doubles, sophomores
Kirill Ivanov (Moscow, Russia) and
Igor Markowski (Paris, France) won 8-2 over Matt Jepsky and Brock Higley. Seniors
James Smith (Monte Sereno, Calif.) and
Dan Roberts (South Windsor, Conn.) defeated Samir Beria and Aren Kabarajian, 8-2, at No. 3 doubles to finish the sweep of the doubles matches.

The Bison continued their dominance on the singles side with Norton winning 8-2 in the top flight over Ramirez followed by Howard winning at No. 2 singles over Okin, 8-5.

Guilherme Barbosa (Bradenton, Fla.) won 8-3 at No. 3 singles over Higley before freshman
Jack Donaldson (Easton, Md.) won 8-0 over Jepsky at No. 4 singles.

At No. 5 singles, senior
Jake Zapatka (Wethersfield, Conn.) won 8-0 over Beria and classmate
Dan Sullivan (Burlington, Mass.) finished the day with a 9-7 win over Kabarajian at No. 6 singles.

All-Time Series
This was only the third time the Bison and the Lions have played each other and the first time since 2004 with Nichols now leading the all-time series, 2-1.
