WENHAM, Mass. (Apr. 14) - The Nichols men's tennis team overpowered Gordon, 9-0, in a Commonwealth Coast Conference match on Saturday at the Brigham Athletic Complex. Nichols extends its winning streak to 10 matches as the Bison improve to 11-3 overall and a perfect 4-0 in conference play as Gordon slips to 1-12 overall and 0-4 in the league.

Nichols set the tone for the day in the early going  as Brandon Roode and Steve Carella captured an 8-5 win over Gary Gaudio and Kenny Gaudio at No. 1 doubles. Following suit, Isiah Prosper and Justin DeLuca at No. 2 and Paul Healy and Dan Roman at No. 3 cruised to 8-0 and 8-3 wins, respectively, to leave Gordon behind 3-0 heading into solo play as Roman picked up his first collegiate victory for the Bison.

Mike Muthersbaugh posted the strongest effort of the day for the Scots at No. 5 singles, taking opponent Dan Saucier to three sets only to fall in the end 6-4, 4-6, 0-1 (7-10). From there the Bison took an authoritative hold over the match, stamping straight-set wins in each remaining match to seal the shutout victory.

The Scots look to stop their skid on the road at Western New England on Tuesday, April 17 at 3:30 p.m., while the Bison hope to extend their win streak to 11 matches as they host Curry on the same day at 3:30 p.m.
