DUDLEY, Mass. (Apr. 2) – The Nichols College men's tennis team swept the singles side in their fourth-straight victory, an 8-1 home win over Gordon Saturday afternoon in a The Commonwealth Coast Conference match at the Francis W. Robinson Courts. The Bison received straight-sets victories at the top three positions as well as the sixth flight, as they improve to 7-4 overall and 4-0 in TCCC play.

The Bison led 2-1 after doubles play, getting an 8-6 win at the top flight from Tyler McLaughlin (Hollis, N.H.) and Steve Carella (Rocky Hill, Conn.) before Eliot Wuhrmann (Fontainbleau, France) and David Drucker (Bellmore, N.Y.) posted an 8-3 win at the third spot. Gordon's sole point of the match came at second doubles, an 8-6 victory by Carl Quinion and Nate Musser over Isiah Prosper (Manchester, N.H.) and Dan Young (Washington Depot, Conn.).

Nichols responded quickly on the singles side for straight-sets wins from Drucker at the top spot and Piotr Pietruczuk (Norwich, Conn.) at the sixth flight before Wuhrmann clinched with a 7-6 (7-5) 6-1 victory over Musser at fifth singles. Carella and McLaughlin followed with wins at second and third singles respectively before Young finished out the match with a super tiebreak win at the fourth flight.

The Bison return to action Wednesday with a 3:30 p.m. home TCCC match against Wentworth.
