NEWPORT, R.I. (April 5) – The Nichols College men's tennis team remained perfect in The Commonwealth Coast Conference action with a 6-3 victory at Salve Regina University Monday afternoon. Nichols led, 2-1, after doubles play, and won at the top three and the sixth singles flights en route to the Bison's fifth consecutive victory overall. Nichols stands at 9-4 overall and 4-0 in TCCC action; they travel to Wentworth on Wednesday for a 3:30 p.m. conference match.

Sophomore Steve Carella (Rocky Hill, Conn.) and first year Tony Ramsdell (Gardner, Mass.) were double winners on the day, teaming together for an 8-5 win at second doubles before both winning their singles flights. Carella posted a 6-4, 6-3 win in the third spot, while Ramsdell didn't drop a game at the sixth spot, winning, 6-0, 6-0.

David Drucker (Bellmore, N.Y) and Eliot Wuhrmann (Fontainbleau, France) edged an 8-6 win at third doubles in their first pairing in almost two weeks. Drucker was a 7-5, 6-2 winner at second singles to remain undefeated in conference play. Justin DeLuca (Mashpee, Mass.) cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 win at the top singles spot to remain unbeaten on the year.
