NEW LONDON, N.H. -- The Nichols College men's tennis team suffered its first The Commonwealth Coast Conference loss of the season Wednesday, a 6-2 setback at the hands of Colby-Sawyer. The Chargers have won three straight matches and even their record at 5-5 overall, improving to 3-1 in TCCC play. Nichols falls to 9-4 overall and 3-1 in conference action.
Nichols' No. 2 doubles tandem of Stephen Carella (Rocky Hill, Conn.) and Oliver McNutt (East Lyme, Conn.) won their 11th-straight match, defeating Christ Lavoie and Robert Barnes, 8-2.
Eliot Wurhmann (Fontainbleau, France) earned the Bison's other point with a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 4 singles.
Nichols returns to action Thursday with a 4 p.m. non-conference home match against Becker.
