BRISTOL, Conn. (9/2/2026) – Nichols College sophomore
Owen Shearer captured individual medalist honors, while the Bison finished runner-up out of three competing programs at the Mitchell College Invitational on Tuesday at Shennecossett Golf Course.
Shearer's performance of 76 (+5) through the single-round event helped spearhead a 319 team score for Nichols, which finished five strokes back of tournament champion Dean College (314). It is also the first individual medal for Shearer in his collegiate career.

Cooper Kilpatrick, who tied for second overall with a six-over 77 in his collegiate debut. Fellow freshman
Tristan Joyce was also a top-10 finisher for the Bison, landing in a two-way tie for 7th at 81 (+10) on the day, while sophomore
Trent Pichie finished tied for 10th with a 14-over 85.
Drew Barrett rounded out the Nichols lineup with an 87 (+16), good for 12th place out of the 15-player field.
Men's Golf will return to action at the upcoming AIC Yellow Jacket Invitational on September 9-10 at Ledges Golf Club. The event will feature 36 holes on day one, followed by a closing 18-hole round on the closing day.
