 The Nichols College golf team placed fifth at the 84th annual New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Division III Championship Monday afternoon at The Captains Course in Brewster, Mass.
 
Junior Patrick Hesseltine earned a share of fifth place as he finished at four-over par (76) on both days of competition to finish the event at +8 (152). Junior TJ Barber was next for head coach Tim Howard, finishing at +12 to earn a share of 13th place.
 
Sophomore Jacob Willis shared 30th place as he finished at +16, followed by sophomore Reece McLeod in a tie for 38th place (+17) and senior Colton Hudson in a tie for 84th place (+27).
 
Three things you need to know...
                -Nichols (+52) finished 15 strokes behind first-place Babson (+37) and ahead of Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) schools Western New England (sixth), Endicott (t-eighth), Wentworth (15th), UNE (19th), and Roger Williams (20th).
                -The Bison also placed fifth at this event last year.
                -Hesseltine finished last year's event at +4 – which earned him a share of fifth place.
