WESTFIELD, Mass. – Senior and reigning Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Player of the Week Kevin Wheeler (Agawam, Mass.) helped the Nichols College golf team to an eighth-place finish at the Westfield State Invitational Tuesday at Tekoa Country Club.

Wheeler was the top finisher for the Bison – who finished with a team score of 335 – as he finished at +8 (79), which was good for a share of 15th place. Freshman Dylan Casserly (Braintree, Mass.) was next for head coach Al Kubicki as he finished at +10 (81) to share 20th place.

Senior Nick Masciadrelli (Westfield, Mass.) was +14 (85) and finished in a tie for 39th place. Sophomore Caleb Tanson (Rockport, Mass.) finished at +19 (90) as he earned a share of 48th place. Freshman Michael Costa (Carver, Mass.) rounded out the field for Nichols with a 53rd place finish as he was +23 (94).

Rhode Island College (302), Babson (309), Castleton (314), Westfield State 'Blue' (316), and Roger Williams (325) comprised the top five.

The Bison compete at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Championship on October 11 and 12 at Crumpin Fox Golf Club.
