Nichols College senior Marcos Echevarria capped his 2018-19 campaign by being named to the D3Hoops.com All-America Second Team.

Echevarria finished his illustrious career No. 16 all-time in scoring in Division III history (2,519) and third in three-pointers (479). This past season, he helped the Bison advance to the 'Elite 8' for the first time in program history, averaging 20.3 ppg to go with 3.9 apg and 1.8 spg. The Lynn, Massachusetts native was named to the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) First Team for the third-consecutive season and is also a three-time CoSIDA Academic All-District pick.

A Jostens Trophy finalist, Echevarria closed his career at Nichols having banged in a three-pointer in an NCAA-record 105 consecutive games, dating back to his freshman campaign. He is the college's all-time leader in points, games played (112), free throws (512), and steals (223). Following the season, he was named to the D3hoops.com All-Northeast Region First Team for the third time in his career (2017, 2018, 2019) and invited to participate in the National Basketball Coaches Association (NABC) Division III College All-Star Game, which took place this past weekend at the Final Four in Fort Wayne, Ind. In that contest, he played 25 minutes and filled the stat sheet with six rebounds, four assists, three points, and one steal for the West in a 104-101 win.

Echevarria becomes the first men's basketball student-athlete in Nichols history to garner All-America honors.
