Nichols College graduate student Kyle Bouchard capped the greatest offensive season in Nichols College baseball history (at the time) Wednesday when he became the first student-athlete in program history to earn D3baseball.com All-America Honors. He was selected to the Fourth Team.
Bouchard – who earlier this week was named to both the D3baseball.com All-New England Region First Team and the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings Division III All-New England Region Second Team – closed the regular season leading the CCC in average (.427), home runs with a Nichols single-season record of 12, and RBI (40).
The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Player of the Year and First Team selection recorded at least one hit in 20 of the team's 24 games in 2021 and registered 12 multi-hit games, including a 10-game hitting streak from March 30 through April 14, during which time he batted .487 (19-of-39) with six round trippers and 22 RBI. Bouchard – who smacked a home run in four-straight games from April 7-10 – homered and drove in four runs twice against Curry College this spring (April 9 & April 14). In the final series of his collegiate career on April 24, he went 6-for-9 with two home runs and seven RBI as the Bison swept Roger Williams.
