Cross Country/Track & Field Combines for Seven CSC Academic All-District Recipients

DUDLEY, Mass. (6/25/2026) -  A total of seven student-athletes on the Nichols men's and women's track & field/cross country teams were announced as recipients of College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors.

For the women's side, the Bison were represented by sophomores Haley Bethin, Gabrielle McKayle and Adison Dawe, while graduate student Gregory Sadlak,  juniors Nolan Charbonneau and Liam Wilcox, and sophomore Chad Moffat made up the list on the men's side.  

The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Cross Country/Track & Field teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes cross country/track & field honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
 
Bethin, a marketing major out of Thomaston, Connecticut, continued to be a key contributor in the Bison throwers group, highlighted by strong shot-put performances throughout the 2026 season. The Bison sophomore landed a fourth-place finish in the shot-put at the Bonnie Edmondson Classic (10.07m), and was also a fifth-place finisher in the at the Tymann Invitational (9.27m) earlier in the campaign, alongside multiple solid marks across shot put, discus, and javelin during the spring slate, providing the Bison with consistency.

McKayle emerged as one of  Nichols' top sprint performers this past spring, excelling across the 200 and 400 meter. A criminal psychology major from Vernon, Connecticut, she claimed runner-up in the 200-meter at the Tymann Invitational (26.74), and also added a sixth-place finish in the 400-meter (1:03.58) that same day. She also helped anchor the Bison sprint unit further with top times for the 100-meter dash, and record performances as a member of the 4x100-meter relay (52.74) at the Springfield College Classic, and the 4x400-meter relay (4:18.11) at the DIII New England Championship.

Dawe, a psychology major from West Kingston, Rhode Island, stood out as another one of Nichols' premier throwers in 2026, particularly in the hammer throw. Her season included a third-place finish at the Tymann Invitational with a 38.22-meter effort, and a fourth-place finish at the Conference of New England Outdoor Track & Field Championship on April 24th with a personal-best mark of 41.70 meters, a program record for the event. Dawe also stood out in indoor competition, adding personal bests in the shot-put (9.26m) and the weight throw (13.89m) at the 2026 Brown Invitational.

Sadlak, a key veteran presence in the mid-distance group, delivered steady performances in both the 400 and 800-meter in 2026. A native of Coventry, Connecticut, Sadlak's season was highlighted by a personal-best 1:57.89 in the 800-meter, earning him a second-place finish at the Conference of New England Outdoor Track & Field Championship, and also a 1:59.18 in the same event at the Springfield College Outdoor Classic. Later on, Sadlak capped the season by contributing key relay legs for the 4x400 squad, helping Nichols post times of 3:29.62 at the CNE championship and 3:29.66 at the NCAA Division III New England Championship.
Charbonneau, a business analytics major from Millbury, Massachusetts, appeared in 12 events for the Bison during the 2026 season and established himself as one of the top hurdlers in the Conference of New England. He earned First Team All-Conference honors after winning the 110m hurdles at the CNE Outdoor Track & Field Championship, posting a personal-best time of 15.08, in addition to a season-best 50.01 in the 400-meter at the Silfen Invitational, and a 400m hurdles best of 58.24 along the way. Charbonneau also played a role in Nichols' sprint depth by helping the 4x100 relay team produce a program-leading time of 43.04 and also represented the Bison at the New England Division III Indoor Track & Field Championship.

Moffat, a sport management major out of Middlebury, Connecticut, was a versatile performer across multiple disciplines in both the throws and distance events. He delivered a standout performance in the javelin, recording a personal-best throw of 53.11m to place second at the Springfield College Outdoor Classic, and also added a personal-best 1500m time of 4:46.93 at the Conference of New England Outdoor Track & Field Championship. As a thrower, Moffat included a personal-best 10.12-meter in the shot put at the indoor Brown Invitational, and added a personal-best discus throw of 24.82-meters at the Jonathan Tymann Invitational.

Rounding out the list, Wilcox appeared in eight events for the Bison in 2026, and set the program record in the pole vault with a personal-best clearance of 3.85-meters at the Bonnie Edmondson Classic, a performance that also earned him Conference of New England Field Athlete of the Week honors. Wilcox also added a strong showing at the Silfen Invitational, posting a personal-best 4,462 points in the decathlon while recording individual bests in the 100-meter, long jump, and 400-meter. He continued his consistency at the Conference of New England Outdoor Track & Field Championship placing fifth in the pole vault (3.80m).
