Women's Track & Field

2026 Track & Field Season Rewind

DUDLEY, Mass. (6/25/2025) - The Nichols College men's and women's track & field programs continued to build momentum throughout the 2026 season under head coach Luke Elson, delivering a year marked by program records, conference breakthroughs, and steady depth across sprints, distance, and field events.

Both squads competed consistently across the spring slate, highlighted by strong performances at the Silfen Invitational, Bonnie Edmonson Classic, and Conference of New England (CNE) Championships. Early-season meets set the tone for a year defined by continued program growth, with multiple athletes establishing new personal bests and school records along the way.

On the men's side, sophomore sprinter Blake Pattison delivered one of the most explosive performances in program history, clocking a blistering 10.64 in the 100-meter dash to establish a new benchmark for Nichols sprinting. The Bison also saw standout contributions from Nolan Charbonneau, who emerged as one of the conference's top sprinters and hurdlers, capturing the CNE title in the 110-meter hurdles while also scoring in multiple events at the conference championships. Jackson Shea added stability in the jumps with an all-conference performance in the high jump, while Gregory Sadlak and Liam Wilcox provided valuable points in mid-distance and multi-event competition. The men capped the year with multiple relay program records, including a record-breaking 4x100m performance at the New England Division III Championships.

The women's program also made significant strides, highlighted by record-setting performances in the field and strong contributions in the sprints and multi-events. Adison Dawe reset the program record in the hammer throw with a mark of 40.29 meters at the Silfen Invitational, continuing her role as one of the team's premier field athletes. Caminea Layman delivered a standout heptathlon season, breaking her own school record with a 2,473-point performance, while Gabrielle McKayle led the sprint group with consistent finishes in the 100 meters. The women's relay squads also closed the season on a high note, setting a new program standard in the 4x400m relay at the NED3 Championships.

Across both programs, Nichols showcased significant improvement in depth and competitiveness, with athletes contributing across every event group and multiple program records falling throughout the spring. The Bison concluded the season with strong conference representation and continued momentum heading into the future of the program.
