BEVERLY, Mass. (10/5/2026) - The Conference of New England (CNE) announced on Monday, 3:00 PM their selections for weekly awards. With the decision, Nichols College men's soccer was recognized three times in a sweep as they are represented by Avery Morse, Nick Reilly, and goalkeeper Anthony Grguric for Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors, as well as Rookie of the Week.

Sophomore forward Morse earns Offensive Player of the Week honors after a standout week for the Bison. Morse recorded a hat trick in Nichols' 4-2 victory over UNE, scoring three goals on five shots, before adding an assist in the Bison's 1-0 win over Curry. The seven-point week pushed Morse to a team-leading four goals and 10 points on the season.

Freshman forward Nick Reilly earned Conference of New England Rookie of the Week honors after helping Nichols to a pair of conference victories over the University of New England and Curry College. Reilly scored his fourth goal of the season in Nichols' 4-2 win over UNE, finding the back of the net with just 34 seconds remaining to seal the victory. He followed that performance with a three-shot effort in the Bison's 1-0 win over Curry, helping Nichols secure its third consecutive victory. Reilly continues to make an immediate impact in his freshman campaign and has now recorded four goals on the season.

Senior goalkeeper Grguric earns Defensive Player of the Week honors after helping Nichols secure a pair of victories. Grguric made six saves against UNE before turning in an eight-save shutout at Curry, totaling 14 saves across 180 minutes with a 1.00 goals-against average and .875 save percentage for the week.

The award marks Morse's first since his Rookie of the Week nod last season (9/8/2025) and Grugric's first selection for weekly honors in his career with Nichols.

The tally for weekly award winners for men's soccer as a team now grows to three on the season.

The Bison will return to tomorrow on Tuesday, October  6th, when they host Suffolk University at Nichols Soccer Field.
