Men's Soccer Three-Game Win Streak Ends Against Suffolk

Written by Gabe Dowd '27

DUDLEY, Mass. (10/6/2026) - The Nichols College men's soccer team fell to Conference of New England (CNE) opponent Suffolk University, 6-0, with the Rams scoring five of their goals in the second half, ending the Bison's three-game win streak.

This loss drops the Bison to 7-4 (3-2 CNE). The Rams improved to 6-3-3 (1-1-1 CNE).

Suffolk took a 1-0 lead into halftime on a penalty kick by Mohamed Mehaya, but the Bison remained within striking distance after a tightly contested opening 45 minutes. Both teams recorded seven shots in the first half, while Nichols College senior goalkeeper Anthony Grguric made four saves before the Rams converted the penalty shot.

The second half proved to be a different story, as Suffolk found the back of the net five times. Mohamed Mehaya led the Rams' offensive attack with three goals, scoring twice early in the second half before completing a hat trick on the day.

Nichols had several scoring opportunities to get on the scoreboard in the second half, including shots from Evan Giannini, Shea Ullo, and Brody Figiela but Suffolk goalkeeper Ian Caldwell kept the Bison off the board giving the Rams a 6-0 victory.

Grguric finished the day with five saves for Nichols, while Alexandro Montreuil and Blake Benigni tied for two shots each on the day.

The Bison will return home on Thursday, October 8th, at 4:00 PM to take on Clark University at the Nichols Soccer Field. The contest was originally scheduled for September 30th before being rescheduled.
