Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Shea Ullo Scores Late to Push Men's Soccer Past Curry College, 1-0

Milton, Mass. (10/2/2026) - Senior defender Shea Ullo scored with less than three minutes remaining, and the Nichols College men's soccer team held off Curry College, 1-0, Friday evening at Katz Field.

The victory marked the Bison's third consecutive win and improved Nichols to 7-3-0 overall and 3-1-0 in Conference of New England (CNE) play. Curry fell to 5-5-2 overall and 1-2-0 in conference action.

Neither team was able to find the back of the net during a scoreless opening half. Curry generated 13 shots in the first 45 minutes, but Nichols goalkeeper Anthony Grguric turned aside two attempts to keep the match level at halftime.

The Bison continued to withstand Curry's offensive pressure throughout the second half. Grguric came up with six additional saves after the break, including stops on shots from Claudio Laquale, Aiden Watts and Jacob Sutton, as the Colonels continued to search for the opening goal.

Nichols finally broke through in the 88th minute. After earning a corner kick, sophomore forward Avery Morse delivered the assist to Ullo, who found the back of the net for his first goal of the season and gave the Bison a 1-0 advantage with 2:42 remaining in regulation.

Curry pushed forward in the final minutes, but the Nichols defense held firm to preserve its third shutout of the season. Grguric finished with eight saves and his second shutout of the campaign.

The Colonels finished with a 25-13 advantage in shots and an 8-6 edge in shots on goal, while both teams earned eight corner kicks. Nichols goalkeeper Ryan McGourty made five saves for Curry.

Morse led the Bison with three shots and one assist, while Ethan Knowles added three shots, including two on goal. Nick Reilly also recorded three shots, and Ullo finished with two shots, both of which were on target, to go along with his game-winning goal.

Friday's victory gives Nichols its third straight win following victories over Fitchburg State and the University of New England. The Bison will return to action Tuesday, Oct. 6th, when they host Suffolk University at Nichols Soccer Field.
