BIDDEFORD, Maine – Two members of the Nichols women's basketball team were named to Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) All-Conference Teams, the conference announced on Wednesday, March 1. Junior guard
Abrianna Vazquez was selected to the First Team All-CCC, while senior
Kiera Fernandes made Third Team All-CCC.

Vazquez led the conference in scoring, averaging 22.8 points per game and scoring in double figures in all 26 games this season. The Dedham, Mass. native broke multiple program records along the way in the 2022-23 campaign, including the most points scored in a single season (592) highest scoring average in a single season (22.8 ppg), single-game scoring record (46), and most three-pointers made in a season (61). Vazquez also led the conference in steals with 82, finishing 33rd in the country in steals per game with 3.15. This season marks the second year in a row that Vazquez has earned All-CCC honors as she was a member of the CCC Second Team in 2021-22.

Fernandes was the conference's second-leading scorer with 17.7 ppg. The guard out of Franklin, Mass. was the team's leading rebounder, pulling down 129 total boards, good for 5.2 per game. Fernandes also led the team in blocks (25) and three-point shooting percentage (32%). Her percentage from beyond the arc was third in the CCC. Fernandes was also second in the conference in steals and steals per game with 63 and 2.5, respectively. On January 28, Fernandes scored a career-high 34 points at Western New England which is the sixth most in a single game in program history.
