Results: Men/Women
BRIGHTON, Mass. — The Nichols men's and women's track & field programs opened up their 2023 season at the Black Sheep Invitational on a record-tying and breaking Saturday afternoon at the TRACK at new balance.
Below are the top finishers for both squads:
Men:
Graduate student Jared Mason - finished 15th (out of 56) in the 60 meter dash, tying a school record (7.49); finished 21st (out of 66) in the 200 meter dash (24.36)
Junior Mason David - finished 17th (out of 56) in the 60 meter dash and now hold the 3rd best time in Nichols history (7.50); finished 32nd (out of 66) in the 200 meter dash (25.09)
Junior Eric Mencey - finished 24th (out of 56) in the 60 meter dash (7.71)
Sophomore Luke Grogan - finished 26th (out of 56) in the 60 meter dash (7.72); finished 30th (out of 66) in the 200 meter dash (25.03)
Freshman Gary Alexis - finished 27th (out of 56) in the 60 meter dash (7.75)
Junior Domenic Savastano - finished 16th (out of 56) in the 1 mile run, setting a PR and the 2nd best time in Nichols history (4:37.9); finished 37th (out of 66) in the 200 meter dash (25.63)
Sophomore Jack Hearn - finished 15th (out of 31) in the 3000 mile run and set a personal best (9:55.8)
Sophomore Ryan Rispoli - finished 17th (out of 31) in the 3000 mile run and set a personal best (10:09.3)
Senior Martin Dupuy - finished 2nd (out of 16) in shot put (13.15m)
Women:
Sophomore Irissa Jimenez - finished 16th (out of 20) in the 60 meter dash and set a Nichols record (9.21); finished 19th (out of 27) in the 200 meter dash (30.37)
The men's and women's track & field program looks to keep moving forward in the next competition at the Bridgewater St. Invitational on Saturday, March 25th with first-year head coach Makayla Norton at the helm.
