BRISTOL, R.I. – The Nichols golf team came away from the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Golf Qualifier victorious for the second-straight year, posting a team score of 309 (+25) on Thursday, September 29 at the Green Valley Country Club in Bristol, R.I., finishing just two strokes ahead of Endicott to win the qualifying match. The victory secures the hosting privileges for the 2022 CCC Golf Championship in the spring.
 
Evan Libby paced the Bison with a third-place performance, posting a 74 (+3) over the 18-hole contest. Finishing one stroke behind Libby was Luke Sargent, who finished in fourth out of the 40-man field.
 
Colby Mitchell landed a top-10 finish, as the Gloucester, Mass. native recorded a score of 79 (+8), finishing tied for a share of ninth place. Rounding out the scoring for the Bison, was Cameron Desante who posted an 81 (+10) to help secure the victory.
 
Drew Stanton also competed in the round, finishing T-29.
 
Joining the Bison at the 2023 CCC Championship, scheduled for the weekend of April 29, will be Endicott, Suffolk, and Roger Williams after those three teams shot a 311 (+27), 317 (+33), and 319 (+35), respectively.
 
Nichols will continue its fall slate this Sunday and Monday, October 2-3 at the University of Southern Maine Fall Classic at the Riverside Golf Course in Portland, Maine.
