104 named to CCC Academic All-Conference Team

BIDDEFORD, Maine – Nichols College saw 104 student-athletes earn 2022 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Winter/Spring Academic All-Conference Team honors. The spring list includes participants from each of the CCC's member institutions who compete in baseball, men's and women's basketball, men's golf, men's and women's ice hockey, men's and women's lacrosse, softball, men's tennis, and men's and women's track and field. 
 
Fifteen members of the men's ice hockey program were named to the team: seniors Petr Miko (accounting & finance), Justin Perron (management), and Noah Poindexter (marketing); juniors Hunter Fraser (criminal justice), Conor Leonard (marketing & real estate), and Korbinian Lutz (accounting); and sophomores Joey Allegrini (sport management), Mathias Backstrom (international business), Daniel Barry, Philip Bjorkman (marketing & real estate), Quinn McCarthy (management), Collin McGuire (finance), Dylan McMahon (management), Max Newnam, and Shane O'Brien
 
The baseball program placed 14 student-athletes on the team: seniors Isaac Blanford (criminal justice management), DJ Caron (sport management), Brendan Duffy (sport management), Owen Sullivan (sport management), and Victor Valentin (sport management); juniors Jack Kabel (accounting), Will Kleinhenz (general business), Johnny Knox (communications), Kyle McCutcheon (sport management), Dylan Passardi (criminal justice), Patrick Sawyer (marketing & communication), and Garrett Tracy (accounting); and sophomores Conner Raff (criminal justice & psychology) and Tyler St. Onge (marketing & sport management). 
 
Dual sport student-athlete seniors Isabella Portt (criminal justice) and Rebecca Taylor (criminal justice) were two of the 12 members of the women's ice hockey program named to the team. They were joined by juniors Julia Carroll (sport management), Kayla Currin (general business), Jessica Gossas-Moberg (sport management), Lauren Rokala (marketing), and Sarah Zeidan (accounting); and sophomores Megan Buxton (general business & management), Sydney Ewell (hospitality management), Meghan McElaney (psychology & history), and Grace Wiggett (sport management). 
 
Twelve members of the men's track & field program were named to the team: seniors Kevin Diaz (general business), David Foster (criminal justice & psychology), Jared Mason (general business), Andrew Napolitano (management), and Shawn Tobin (marketing); juniors Lucas Couture (HR management), Deegan Eggleston (criminal justice and psychology), Chadwick Fischer (history), Austin Paul (sport management), and Gregory Raso (sport management); and sophomores Jamison DeFaria (management & criminal justice management) and Domenic Savastano (criminal justice). 
 
Twelve members of the men's lacrosse program garnered recognition: seniors Joseph Busa (criminal justice), Hunter Ferreira (sport management), Ethan Hopey (general business), Cian Keohane (communications), Lejaun Pope (sport management), and Jarrod Sweeney (sport management); juniors Evan St. Arnauld (marketing) and Ryan Warner (accounting); and sophomores Kyle Ettenhofer (accounting), Nick Gualtieri (corporate finance & investments and economics), Cooper Melvin (marketing & sport management), and Sam Reisman (criminal justice management). 
 
Ten members of the softball program – seniors Mackenzie Bourgault (criminal justice), Candice Nelson (general business), and Courtney Schullery (sport management); juniors Jessica Botelho (marketing), Allie Brown (sport management), and Alyssa Ouellette (criminal justice); and sophomores Hailey Bogusz (criminal justice), Jayda Cesar (sport management), Felicya Decicco (sport management, marketing, & hospitality management), and Mackenzie Jackson (marketing) – were recognized by the conference. 

The record-setting women's lacrosse program had nine selections, highlighted by Portt and Taylor. Seniors Sam Ahaesy (MBA), Abbey Cail (MBA), Sabrina Dembro (general business), Elizabeth Luster (MSOL), and Brooke Pelley (criminal justice & psychology); and juniors Mackenzie Doran (management) and Madison Robichaud (finance) were also named.
 
Six members of the women's track and field program garnered recognition: seniors Jayme Dowd (finance) and Samantha Goodstein (psychology, general business, & entrepreneurship); juniors Taylor LaBouef (marketing) and Amanda Simco (marketing); and sophomores Jenna Condon (finance) and Rajchel Smardon (criminal psychology). 
 
Seniors Enrico Menegon (international business & psychology) and Lane Parks (sport management) were two of the five members of the CCC champion men's tennis program on the team. The pair was joined by junior Grant Garcia (marketing) and sophomores Caio Dieckmann (economics) and Trevor Schwarzmann (accounting & sport management). 
 
Two seniors and three juniors from the women's basketball program were named to the team: seniors Amanda Donoghue (criminal justice & psychology) and Jillian Spillane (accounting), along with juniors Erin Cann (accounting), Toni Geisel (management & finance), and Leandra Ortiz (management & marketing). 
 
Junior CCC Golfer of the Year Colby Mitchell (marketing) was one of four men's golf student-athletes named to the team, along with seniors Troy Howe (general business) and Brian Kallajian (sport management) and sophomore Luke Sargent (marketing). 
 
The five-time reigning CCC champion men's basketball program placed two seniors on the team: Jaden Feaste (history) and Jason O'Regan (management). 
 
A total of 941 student-athletes from the conference's 10 institutions comprised the list. In order to be recognized as a member of the Academic All-Conference Team an athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.3 (on a 4.0 scale) and must also have attained sophomore academic status.
