BEVERLY, Mass. (4/11/2026) – The Nichols College baseball team dropped a 6-3 decision in game one and a 10-0 loss after seven innings in game two to No. 22 Endicott College in conference action Saturday afternoon.
Nichols drops to 12-11 overall and 5-4 in CNE play, while Endicott improves to 18-5 (9-0 CNE).
Game One: Endicott 6, Nichols 3
The game was a pitcher's duel for most of the innings, with Nichols' starter
Clark Churchill matching Endicott's Brady Stuart. The Gulls broke through in the fourth inning, taking a 1-0 lead on a sacrifice fly after an error allowed the inning to continue. Churchill kept the Bison within striking distance through six innings, allowing just six hits. However, Endicott capitalized on defensive miscues in the seventh inning, scoring five runs, only two of which were earned, to extend the lead to 6-0.
Nichols mounted a late push in the eighth inning.
Kyle Birks started the rally with a single before
Ryan Keating launched a two-run home run to left-center field. Later in the inning,
Tyler Ladouceur added a solo shot to cut the deficit in half at 6-3.
The Bison threatened again in the ninth, as
Collin Harty doubled to put a runner in scoring position, but Endicott's bullpen closed the door to secure the win.
Nichols finished with six hits on the day, with Birks, Keating, and Harty each contributing offensively. Keating led the team with two RBIs, while Ladouceur provided a spark off the bench with his pinch-hit home run.
Mitch Brown added two scoreless innings in relief, striking out four and allowing zero runs. But the five-run seventh inning proved to be the difference as Nichols came up short on the road.
Game Two: Endicott 10, Nichols 0
Endicott broke the game open early, scoring six runs in the second inning behind three home runs, including a three-run shot from James Benestad and a two-run homer from TJ Liponis, to take control.
The Gulls added to their lead in the fourth inning, as Kyle Grabowski launched a three-run home run before Brenden Walsh followed with a solo shot to extend the advantage to 10-0. The game ended with that final score line after seven innings of play.
Nichols was limited offensively throughout the game, collecting five hits against Endicott starter Matt Pappalardo, who struck out 11 over seven shutout innings.
Jack Raymond,
Andrew Rocca,
Collin Harty,
Zachary Noyes, and
Charles MacElhiney each recorded a hit for the Bison.
Aidan Whitten took the loss on the mound, allowing 10 runs on 11 hits over four innings of work.
Abe Anderson provided a highlight out of the bullpen, tossing two scoreless innings in relief to finish the game.
The Bison hit the road on Monday, April 13th, for a non-conference matchup against Worcester State University. First pitch is set for 3 PM.
