THOMPSON, Conn. – Graduate student Reece McLeod earned Medalist honors as the Nichols College golf team placed second at the 2022 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship Sunday afternoon at Raceway Golf Course. The Bison finished with a team score of 611, which was one stroke behind Endicott College (610).

McLeod shot a 73 for the second consecutive day and finished with a two-day score of 146 (+2). Junior Colby Mitchell placed second at +5 as he posted a 74 yesterday and a 75 today, giving him a final score of 149.

Sophomore Luke Sargent earned a share of fifth place for NC, shaving one stroke off yesterday's 77 to post a 76 today for a two-day total of 153. Senior Casey Torname – who posted an 83 on Saturday – shot an 80 on Sunday and finished 14th at +19 (163).

Freshman and reigning CCC Rookie of the Week Drew Stanton cut two strokes off his score of 84 in round one and closed the event in 16th place at +22 (166).

Suffolk University (640) and UNE (641) placed third and fourth, respectively.
