The Nichols College men's golf team won the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Qualifier Thursday afternoon at the Country Club of Wilbraham. The Bison finished at +22, which was six strokes better than second-place Western New England.

Jacob Willis was a medalist at +2 for head coach
Tim Howard. He recorded a birdie on holes three, four, and six to finish the front nine at -1, then posted a +3 on the back nine to finish at 74. Willis shot 10 holes at par.

John Marlborough finished one stroke back of Willis at +3 (75) as he birdied four holes (6, 8, 13, 14) and finished at par on nine others. He shot a +2 on the front nine and +3 on the back nine.

Reece McLeod placed seventh overall at +8 (80). He finished 11 holes at par, recorded a birdie on seven, and finished +5 on the front nine and +3 on the back nine.
Freshman
Colby Mitchell – who was named CCC Rookie of the Week earlier this year – finished in a tie for eighth place at +9 (81), scoring a birdie on holes seven and 16 while shooting par on six others. Senior
Patrick Hesseltine earned a share of 16th place as he finished at or below par on nine holes to bring his score to an 82 (+10).
Nichols – which last won the CCC Championship in 2010, one year before the qualifier was introduced – will now host the CCC Championship next April at a site TBD.
