The Nichols College golf team finished ninth at the 2018 Montgomery Cup this past weekend at the Shawnee Inn & Resort in Delaware, Pa.
 
Senior Colton Hudson was the top finisher for NC at +8 (79-73-152) – good for a share of 32nd place. Junior TJ Barber was next at +9 (75-78-153), which placed him in a tie for 34th place.
 
Sophomores Jacob Willis and Reece McLeod finished tied for 40th and tied for 44th, respectively. Willis (+11) was three strokes better on the second day of competition (79-76-155) while McLeod (+15) did the same, posting an 81 on day one and a 78 on day two.
 
Three things you need to know
-The Bison finished at +43, which was ahead of Moravian (+60), Penn St.-Harrisburg (+72), and Cairn (+162).
-Allegheny College won the event by finishing 11 under par. Casey Leebrink (York) competed the event at -8 to medal.
-Nichols posted a 314 on day one but shaved nine strokes off that total the following day to post a two-day score of 619.
