The Nichols College golf team placed second at the 2018 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Qualifier Wednesday afternoon at Highfields Golf & Country Club in Grafton, Mass.

The Bison (306) finished four strokes off first-place Western New England (302) but still qualified for the conference championship, which will take place this spring and also feature Endicott (309) and Roger Williams (322).

Junior
Patrick Hesseltine, along with sophomores
Reece McLeod and
Jacob Willis, each shared fourth place by finishing four-over par (76). Hesseltine notched four birdies and made par on seven other holes. McLeod made par on 12 holes and picked up one birdie while Willis picked up two birdies and made par on 12 holes.

Three things you need to know...
               -Wentworth took fifth place (232) while the University of New England (335) was sixth. Making its first appearance at the event, Gordon (381) placed seventh.
               -Junior
TJ Barber and senior
Colton Hudson also participated for Nichols. Barber shared 11th place as she finished at +6 (78) while Hudson closed the day at +7 (79). The duo combined for three birdies to make par on 18 holes.
               -Andrew Crean of Western New England was a medalist, finishing the course at one-over par (73).
