Box Score DUDLEY, Mass. – The Nichols College women's basketball team was defeated by the University of New England 81-48 Saturday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) women's basketball action at the Nichols Athletic Center.
Senior Kelly Coleman (Portland, Conn.) led four Nor'easters in double-figures with 23 points and also snared 11 rebounds. Junior Alanna Vose (Cushing, Maine) filled the stat sheet with 20 points, five rebounds, and three assists while freshman Sam MacDonald (Lebanon, N.H.) and sophomore Alicia Brown (Greenland, N.H.) scored 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Amber Litwinko (Berlin, Conn.) paced Nichols with 15 points while also notching nine rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Freshman
Brooke Packard (Dudley, Mass.) scored nine of her 11 points in the second half while senior
Sarah Whitestone (Dalton, Mass.) chipped in with 10 points on 5-of-6 shooting.
The Nor'easters raced out to an 18-2 lead and led 44-20 at the break behind 12 points and seven rebounds from Coleman and 11 points from Vose. UNE canned 52 percent of its shots (17-of-33), outrebounded the Bison 25-14, and held them to 9-of-30 from the floor (30 percent).
UNE outscored Nichols 37-28 in the second half as Coleman netted 11 while Rose rattled home three 3-pointers. Litwinko had eight in the second half as she went 4-of-4 from the charity stripe.
The Nor'easters finished the contest shooting 46 percent and outrebounded Nichols 50-38. They scored 45 points in the paint and 18 off Nichols turnovers.
Nichols (4-8, 1-5 CCC) hosts Endicott Thursday at 7:30 p.m. UNE (8-2, 5-0 CCC) heads to Springfield Tuesday for a 5:30 contest with Western New England.
