ResultsNEWINGTON, Conn. – The Nichols College golf team placed third at the Trinity Invitational Sunday at Indian Hills Golf Course. The Bison recorded a team score of 622 (+46).
Senior
Kevin Wheeler (Agawam, Mass.) and junior
Colin Whitney (Longmeadow, Mass.) shared seventh place overall as each finished at +7 (151); Wheeler posted a 77 on day one and a 74 on day two while Whitney shaved 11 strokes off Saturday's 81 to score a 70 on Sunday.
Senior
Nick Masciadrelli (Westfield, Mass.) was next in a tie for 36th place with a score of 162 (80-82; +18). Freshman
Kevin Leary (Brookfield, Mass.) tied for 48th place in his first collegiate event, shooting a 165 (82-83; +21). Sophomore
Nick Wage (Holden, Mass.) finished the event at +23 after cutting 15 strokes on of his day one total to earn a share of 53rd place (91-76-167). Freshman
Cole Ambach placed 68th at +32 (89-87-176).
Trinity won the event at +14 (296-294-590) while their 'B' placed second at +40 (616). Castleton State (625; +49) and Babson tied for fourth. Â Â
The Bison compete at the Duke Nelson Invitational this weekend.
