ResultsBIDDEFORD, Maine – The Nichols College golf team quailed for the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship this spring with a third-place finish at the CCC Qualifier Thursday morning at Dunegrass Golf Club.
The Bison posted a team score of 325, behind only Endicott (308) and Western New England (322). Junior
Colin Whitney (Longmeadow, Mass.) led the way with a 74 (+2) – one shot off the lead – followed by senior
Kevin Wheeler (Agawam, Mass.) in a tie for third at +4 (76).
Senior
Nick Masciadrelli (Westfield, Mass.) was third for Nichols at +14 (86), followed by freshman
Dylan Casserly (Braintree, Mass.) at +17 (89) and sophomore
Nick Wage (Holden, Mass.) at +18 (90).
Wentworth secured the fourth and final berth into conference championship with a fourth-place finish today (331). UNE (332), Roger Williams (335), and Eastern Nazarene (439) founded out the group.
The 2015 CCC Golf Championship is scheduled for Saturday, April 25-Sunday, April 26 and will be hosted by Endicott at a neutral site, to be determined. The winner of the 36-hole championship will receive the conference's first automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.
