ResultsSPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Nichols College golf team finished sixth at the 2014 Western New England Invitational Thursday at Veteran Memorial Golf Course.
The Bison finished with a team score of 317, which trailed Western New England (302), Endicott (305), UMass Dartmouth (309), Salem State (310), and Westfield State (313).
Sophomore
Colin Whitney (Longmeadow, Mass.) and freshman
Nick Wage (Holden, Mass.) each shot a 77 (+5) to finish in a four-way tie for ninth place.
Junior
Kevin Wheeler (Agawam, Mass.) was one of three student-athletes to finish at +8 (80) while junior
Jordon Kadlik (Kennebunk, Maine) finished at +11 (83). Sophomore
Tyler Sleeper (Indian Orchard, Mass.) shot an 89 (+17).
Austin Teal (Endicott) finished three-under par (69) to win the event. Nicholas Shemkovitz (WNE), Tyler Beaudry (Westfield St.), and Stave Parise (Salem St.) all finished at +3 (75) to tie for second.
Nichols plays at the Johnson & Wales Invitational Friday and Saturday at Cranston Country Club.
