Results: Rich Korzec Memorial Invite /
Worcester Collegiate CupWORCESTER, Mass. – The Nichols College golf team placed second at the 2014 Rich Korzec Memorial Invite Tuesday morning at Blackstone Country Club. The event was shortened to nine holes due to inclement weather.
In the process, the Bison captured the Worcester Collegiate Cup Golf Championship as they finished with a team score of 161 –nine strokes lower than Holy Cross (170) and 12 lower than Worcester State (173).
Freshman
Nick Wage (Holden, Mass.) shot a 38 (+2) to finish third and medal. Junior
Kevin Wheeler (Agawam, Mass.) was one shot back in a tie for fourth (39; +3) while sophomore
Morgan Billings (Scituate, Mass.) and junior
Jordon Kadlik (Kennebunk, Maine) shared 20th place after shooting a 42 (+6). Freshman
Evan Ryan (Norton, Mass.) shot a 49 (+13) and finished 50th.
Rhode Island College won the event with a team score of 152, followed by the Bison, Castleton (163), Western New England (164), and Salem State (165).
Nichols plays at the Western New England Invitational Thursday.
