DARTMOUTH, Mass. - Freshman Nick Wage (Holden, Mass.) sank a hole-in-one to help the Nichols College golf team earn a share of sixth-place at the Hampton Inn Collegiate Invite Saturday at Allendale Country Club.

Wage used a five iron on hole No. 3 and drained it from 190 yards out. He finished in a tie for 21st place with junior teammate Kevin Wheeler (Agawam, Mass.) at 164. Wage shot an 82 both Friday and Saturday while Wheeler cut eight strokes off Friday's total and posted a 78.

Sophomore Colin Whitney (Longmeadow, Mass.) finished with a two-day total of 165 (80-85) and shared 25th place. Junior Benjamin Ilg (Bristol, R.I.) shot an 84 on Saturday – one better than Friday's 85 – and shared 38th place with a 139. Freshman Evan Ryan (Norton, Mass.) also shot a 139 (86-83) and was one of several golfers tied with Ilg for 38th place.

Amherst, Rhode Island College, UMass Dartmouth, Endicott, and Salem State finished one through five.

Nichols plays at the Worcester State Invitational on April 15 at Blackstone Country Club.
