ORLANDO, Fla. – Sophomore
Lindsay Benoit (Holden, Mass.) helped deliver two points with a win at both doubles and singles as the Nichols College women's tennis team was defeated 6-3 by Lawrence on the final day of the team's spring break trip.

Anna Dyakiv (Amsterdam, N.Y.) closed out doubles with the lone Bison tally as they topped their opposition 8-5 at the first flight. The sophomore later outlasted her singles opponent 6-4, 1-6, 1-0 (10-4) to end the match with the third Bison point of the day. Senior
Alex Cifone (Bristol, Conn.) produced the only other point for the Black and White as she shook off a slow start to take the first set before cruising in the second in the 7-6 (7-4), 6-2 victory at the third singles flight.
“Alex played some of the best tennis of her career in the second set and dominated a solid opponent,” remarked head coach
Paul Brower.
Dyakiv took the first set before ultimately falling 6-1 5-7, 0-1 (2-10). Newcomer
Amber McCarthy was impressive in her first set but, following an injury, was on the wrong end of a 6-2. 4-6, 1-6 setback
“Overall it was a strong effort by both teams on the trip,” added Brower.
The Bison are idle until the squad welcomes Worcester State to the Francis W. Robinson Courts on Saturday, April 20 at 2:30 p.m. Lawrence is slated to head to Concordia (Wis.) for an 11:00 a.m. match on Saturday, April 7.
