CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Nichols College women's tennis team sent a trio of student-athletes to the USTA/ITA New England Division III Women's Tennis Regionals at MIT on Friday.
 
Sophomore Lindsay Benoit (Holden, Mass.) was defeated in straight sets by freshman Kate Pollan (Bradenton, Fla.) from Williams. Also in singles competition, senior Alex Cifone (Bristol, Conn.) fell to fellow senior Jacquelyn Holmes (Harvard, Mass.) from Bates, 6-0, 6-1.
 
Benoit and Junior Anna Dyakiv (Amsterdam, N.Y.) drew the third seeded doubles team of junior Shelci Bowman (Dallas, Texas) and senior Lindsay Katz (Baltimore, Md.) from Tufts and absorbed an 8-2 setback.
 
Weather permitting, the Nichols College women's tennis team will entertain Roger Williams at noon on Sunday in a Commonwealth Coast Conference match.
