CRANSTON, R.I. (April 22) – The Nichols College golf team wrapped up play in 10th place out of 14 teams at the rain-shortened Johnson & Wales Wildcat Invitational Saturday. The Bison finished with a 491 in 27 holes at the par-71, 6,493-yard Cranston Country Club.
The Bison dropped two spots after the first round Saturday, scoring one birdie after eight in the opening round. First year
Nick Masciadrelli was the top Nichols finisher in a tie for 33rd at 123 (80-43), and was followed by
Kevin Wheeler, who was one stroke back in a tie for 35th (82-42).
John Juterbock recovered from a poor first round outing to post the best Nichols Sunday score with a 39 (+4 ) and move up nine spots, finishing in a tie for 38th (86-39-125). Saturday's Bison leader,
Tyler Sleeper, dropped to a 45th-place tie with a Sunday 48 and two-day 127.
Joe Gallagher rounded out Nichols' scoring in 56th with a 132 (92-40).
Husson took home the team championship with a 468 (313-155), and Southern Maine's Josh Hogan earned medalist honors, carding a 110 (72-38).
Nichols plays at the Elms Invitational on Friday, April 27th in a tune-up for the Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship April 28th and 29th.

CRANSTON, R.I. (April 21) – The Nichols College golf team stands in eighth place among the 14-team field after the first round of play at the Johnson & Wales Invitational. The second and final round is scheduled for Sunday at the par-71, 6,493-yard Cranston Country Club.
The Bison (327) carded eight birdies on the day, second only to Husson University, which stands in third place behind leader Rhode Island College (309) and Elms College (310).
Tyler Sleeper leads the Bison at +8 after posting one of the best back-nine scores of the 72-player field. His 79 (43-36) tied him for 17th place on the individual leaderboard.
Nick Masciadrelli shot an even 80 (40-40) to tie for 22nd, while
Kevin Wheeler was two strokes back (40-42) in a tie for 35th.
John Juterbock cut six strokes off his front nine score to card an 86 (46-40) in a tie for 47th.
Joe Gallagher's 92 (51-41) rounded out the Bison five.
