Kevin Wheeler tied for 16th as he led the Nichols men's golf team to a 10th place finish at the two-day Hampton Inn Invitational hosted by UMass Dartmouth that concluded on Saturday at the par-72 Allendale Country Club.
Wheeler shot a 163 as he turned in a team-best 81 (+9) on Friday while he and junior
Zach Kohn each carded an 82 (+10) on Saturday. Overall, Kohn was four strokes behind Wheeler in a tie for 33rd with a 167 for the weekend as junior
John Juterbock finished with a 49th-place 172. Both rookie
Nick Masciadrelli and junior
Samuel Scott fired a 178 for the 65th spot.
Chris Berry (163 (+8)) from Salem State took medalist honors as Husson claimed the team title with a 629 (+53).
The Bison return to the links on Tuesday for the Worcester State Invitational at the Blackstone Country Club in Sutton, Mass.
