FRAMINGHAM, Mass. - Senior
Hayley Zophin (Framingham, Mass.) returned to her hometown and tallied 25 points and 20 rebounds in Nichols College's 76-64 loss at Framingham State in non-conference women's basketball action Tuesday evening.
Sophomore
Alexis Wegrzynek (Wilbraham, Mass.) added 14 points and nine rebounds for the Bison (2-5) while junior
Devon Spirka (Wilmington, Vt.) racked up eight points, seven rebounds, seven assists and three steals.
"We have one more game before we're off for winter break," said Zophin. "We need to keep our heads up high and get out of this tough slump."
Senior Madeleine Park (Blue Hill, Maine) lead the Rams offensively with 21 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the field as the Rams built a 15-point halftime lead and never looked back. Senior forward Kia Minor (Edgartown, Mass.) and junior guard Kristen Hoffman (Foxboro, Mass.) had 13 points apiece for the Rams.
With the victory, the Rams have won four-straight after starting the season 1-3. They will host St. Joseph's College (ME) this Saturday at 1 p.m. The Bison host Anna Maria Thursday at 7 p.m.
