DUDLEY, Mass. (Sept. 27) – The Anna Maria golf team edged out host Nichols College by two strokes in a quad 'B' match at Dudley Hill Golf Course Tuesday afternoon. The AMCATS were led by Chris Gosselin, who broke a tie at four-over with the Bison's
Zach Kohn with a par on the first handicap hole to take top honors.
Gosselin's par on the 16th hole bested Kohn by one stroke, giving the freshman the top individual finish at 76 (+4). He and all five AMCATS were within seven strokes of par, leading to a two-stroke victory with a team 310.
Kohn led the Bison with a 76 (+4) and saw three teammates card below an 80, including first year
Tyler Sleeper, who was one stroke off the lead in a three-way tie for 77 (+5). Nichols finished with a team 312.
Branden Parkhouse was the top finisher for Becker with a 79, as the Hawks came in third at 332. Wentworth's Dante Christofori carded a 77 as the Leopards scored a 338.
Sophomore
Morgan Billings finished with a 79 for the Bison while classmate
Greg Strootman scored an 80.
Samuel Scott rounded out the scoring with an 82.
Nichols returns to action Saturday and Sunday at the ECAC DIII Championships at Hampden Country Club in Hampden, Mass.
