Joshua Paulhus (Natick, Mass.) fired a tournament-low 73 (+2) on the final day of play to finish third on the individual leaderboard.
Paulhus had a tournament-best five birdies on Monday and cut six strokes off his first round score to move from 17th place Saturday to a third-place overall finish in the tournament with a two-day 152 (79, 73).
Brian Sears (North Grafton, Mass.) dropped to a tie for 24th place after standing in ninth after round one, finishing with a two-day 160 (77, 83).
John Juterbock (Darien, Conn.) cut three strokes off his first round score to tie for 44th with a two-day 165 (84, 81).
Matthew Quigley (Sturbridge, Mass.) moved up nine spots on the individual leaderboard by taking six strokes off his Sunday score, finishing with a two-round 166 (86, 80) in a tie for 47th. Dan Cafasso (Prospect, Conn.) also fared better in the second round, cutting eight strokes off his opening round card to tie for 53rd with a two-day 168 (88, 80).
Salem State took top team honors with a composite 620, and was led by medalist Nick Zolotas, who held onto his top place after the first round and finished six-over with a two-day 148 (74, 74).
Nichols closes out the spring season Tuesday at the Blackstone National Invitational hosted by Worcester State.
