PAXTON, Mass. (Sept. 21) – Junior Kaitlyn DiBuono (Auburn, Mass.) scored two first half goals to lead the Nichols College women's soccer team to a 3-0 victory over Anna Maria College during a The Commonwealth Coast Conference matchup at AMCAT Field on Tuesday night. The Bison improve to 6-1 overall with a 2-1 mark in conference play, while the AMCATS fall to 0-6 on the season and 0-3 in the TCCC.

DiBuono got the scoring started in the 19th minute of play, taking a feed from sophomore Samantha Abro (Northborough, Mass.) and delivering a centering pass that deflected off of the AMC goalkeeper and found its way into the net.

DiBuono gave the Bison a 2-0 lead in the 36th minute when she found the back of the net off a nice pass from senior Katelyn Delaney (Weymouth, Mass.).

With the first half winding down, Abro chased down a long pass that bounced off the AMC goalkeeper, and knocked it home to put Nichols ahead by the final score of 3-0.

Sophomore Tabitha Ruggeri played well in net for the AMCATS, making 18 saves on the night, including 15 in the first half alone. Nichols keeper Maureen Lynch (Holbrook, Mass.) made one stop in the shutout win.

The Bison return to action Wednesday when they host Becker College at 7:00 p.m., while the AMCATS take the field on Saturday, traveling to take on New England College at noon.
