SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (9/12/2026) – The Nichols College women's soccer team fell to Western New England University, 6-0, in their Conference of New England opener on Saturday afternoon at Suprenant Field. After scoring in the 16th minute, the Golden Bears never let off the pedal, as they went on to earn a conference win.
After today's results, the Bison drop to 0-3-1 (0-1 CNE), while the Golden Bears sit at 2-2 (1-0 CNE).
The Golden Bears opened the scoring in the 16th minute when Liza Pinette found the back of the net. Western New England added two more goals before halftime, with Meghan Hartnett scoring in the 27th minute and Natalia Estrada Rangel finding the back of the net in the 32nd minute to take a 3-0 lead into the break.
Western New England continued to build on its advantage in the second half, scoring three unanswered goals on their way to the 6-0 victory.
Nichols generated seven shots on the afternoon, including three on target.
Summer Bruno led the Bison with two shots, while
Avery Gravel,
Serephine Jodoin,
Gigi Errico,
Juliana Brimecombe and
Alyssa Senecal each recorded one.
Goalkeepers
Emily Dougenik and
Elizabeth Johnson split time in net for the Bison. Dougenik made seven saves in the opening half, while Johnson recorded one save over the final 45 minutes.
The Bison return to action on Tuesday, September 15th, for a non-conference contest versus Plymouth State University. Kickoff is set for 3 PM on the Nichols College Soccer Field.
