Women's Soccer Earns First Win of the Season Against Dean, 2-0

DUDLEY, Mass. (9/21/2026) - The Nichols College women's soccer team picked up its first victory of the 2026 season on Monday afternoon, defeating Dean College, 2-0, at Vendetti Field.

With the win, the Bison improve to 1-5-1 on the season, while Dean falls to 2-4-1.

Nichols wasted little time applying pressure, recording 13 shots in the opening half and eventually breaking through in the 23rd minute. Gianna Masciadrelli found the back of the net at 22:01 to give the Bison a 1-0 advantage.

Nichols continued to control the pace of play and doubled its lead just before halftime. Megan Tucker scored her first goal of the season in the 42nd minute, with Rylyn McInnis providing the assist to send the Bison into the break with a 2-0 advantage.

The Bison continued to apply pressure throughout the second half, recording 13 additional shots and earning seven corner kicks. Nichols finished the afternoon with a 26-13 advantage in shots and an 8-1 edge in corner kicks.

Emily Dougenik anchored the Nichols defense in goal, making six saves en route to her first shutout of the season. Dean goalkeeper Danielle Reinhard kept the Bulldogs within striking distance with 11 saves.

Nichols' offensive attack was led by Avery Gravel, who recorded a team-high four shots, while Maggi Cullivan added three shots and two shots on goal. Jordan Hendricks also registered three shots, including two on target.

The Bison return to action Thursday, September 24, when they travel to Nashua, New Hampshire, to face Rivier University at 6 p.m.
